One finance app for the whole GCC

  • Saudi Arabia
  • Qatar
  • Bahrain
  • Kuwait
  • Oman

How it works

From payday to peace of mind, in four steps.

No bank login, no spreadsheet to maintain, no forty-field setup wizard. You talk, the AI does the filing. You can be done with all of this before your coffee gets cold.

  1. Tell Koma when you get paid

The 25th? The 5th? Whenever your salary actually lands, that is the day your cycle begins. Every number in Koma is measured from it, so the app is finally counting the same month you are living.

  2. Say what you spent

Type it, say it out loud, or photograph the receipt, in the app or straight from Telegram, in English, Arabic, or Arabizi, mixing in Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog if that is how you talk. There is nothing to learn, because the format is just a sentence.

  3. The AI sorts it out

The amount, the currency, and the category are read for you and filed into the right place in your cycle. You glance at the confirm card and tap once. Nothing is saved until you do. That is the whole ritual, and it takes seconds.

  4. Wake up to your money

Open Koma and see what is left, what is going home to family, and how many days stand between you and payday. When the cycle closes, you get your Wrapped.

That is the whole product. Everything else Koma does is in service of those four steps.

What Koma does

The AI expense tracker and budget app made for the Gulf

An AI assistant that reads what you type, say, or photograph, wrapped around how money actually works when you live and earn in the Gulf, whether you support family here or back home.

Chat-first logging

Tell the AI. The way you'd say it. Logged in seconds.

Tell Koma what you spent in plain words, like 'spent 80 on lunch' or 'صرفت 80 على الغداء'. English, Arabic, or Arabizi, and you can mix in Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog. Koma reads the amount and the category, then logs it in seconds.

Inside a cycle

One pay cycle, from the inside.

Koma is built around the month you actually live, so the clearest way to show it is to walk one. Here is a single cycle, from the day your salary lands to the day it closes.

An honest comparison

Why a global budgeting app never quite fits here.

The big finance apps are excellent, and they were built for a calendar month, a Western bank feed, and one language. Life in the Gulf is none of those three. This is where the difference actually shows up.

What life here needs

Runs on your payday, not the 1st

Salaries here land on the 25th, the 28th, the 5th. A calendar month never matches the money actually in your hand.

Your data, protected

Serious security. No bank login needed.

Koma helps you understand your money without ever touching your bank account. You stay in control of what you share.

  • No Bank Connection, Ever

Koma never asks for your online banking login, card numbers, or account access, and it never connects to your bank. You tell Koma what you spent. Or, on Android with Koma+, you switch on automatic capture, and Koma reads the payment alerts your phone has already received, from the apps you picked and nothing else.

  • Encrypted in transit and at rest

Your information is encrypted on its way to Koma and while it is stored, on infrastructure trusted by thousands of companies worldwide.

  • You own your data

Export everything to a file, or delete your account and all its data, any time. It is yours, not ours to keep.

  • Private By Design

We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. Koma is paid for by Koma users, not by selling what they tell us.

About Koma

Koma is an AI-powered, pay-cycle personal finance app built for life in the Gulf. It is for the millions of people, locals and expats, living and working in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman who earn a salary in the Gulf and often support family, whether nearby or back home. Instead of forms, Koma gives you an AI assistant you talk to: type, say, or photograph what you spent in English, Arabic, or Arabizi and it is read, categorised, and logged in seconds. You can also set category budgets, save toward goals, ask the AI questions about your own spending, and track the money you send to family, all in one place.

What makes Koma different from a generic expense tracker: every way in is AI-first. You type what you spent in natural language and the AI reads it, or you tap the mic and say it and the AI transcribes it, or you photograph a receipt and the AI reads every line and logs the whole basket as one entry. You can also ask the AI questions about your own money in plain language and get a plain-language answer back, instead of building a report. It is pay-cycle based, not calendar based, so it tracks your salary cycle and not the calendar month. It includes family support and remittance tracking as a core feature, not an add-on. It needs no bank login and never connects to your bank: you tell Koma what you spent, or, on Android with Koma+, you let it read the payment alerts your phone has already received. The interface is fully bilingual in English and Arabic with a right-to-left layout, and the AI chat also understands Arabizi and the way people naturally mix in a few words of Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog. Koma is free to use.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask before they start using Koma.

Is Koma free?

Yes. When you sign up, your first 7 days are free with unlimited AI, so you can try it properly before you decide. After that, pay-cycle tracking, budgets, savings goals, family support tracking, and your cycle Wrapped summary all stay free. The AI assistant stays free too, with 10 AI messages per pay cycle for logging and questions by chat, while manual logging is always unlimited. If you want the AI cap lifted, Koma+ is the paid plan, and you buy it inside the app through the App Store or Google Play. The core app stays free either way.

Does Koma have an AI assistant or chatbot?

Yes. Koma is built around an AI chat assistant. You log expenses by chatting in English, Arabic, or Arabizi, with no forms, and you can ask questions about your money in plain language, like how much you spent on dining this month or how much you have left this cycle, and get a clear answer back. The AI understands English and Arabic, including the Gulf, Levantine, and Egyptian dialects and Arabizi, even when you mix in a few words of Hindi, Urdu, or Tagalog.

What can I ask the Koma AI?

Two things: tell it what you spent, or ask it about your money. Logging sounds like 'spent 45 on lunch', 'صرفت ٨٠ على الغداء', 'taxi 30', or 'sent 1500 to mum'. Questions sound like 'how much did I spend on groceries this cycle?', 'what is my biggest expense this month?', 'how much have I sent home this year?', or 'how much do I have left until payday?'. You can also tap the mic and say any of it out loud, or photograph a receipt and let the AI read every line. It answers in the language you asked in.

How is Koma different from other budgeting apps?

Most budgeting apps are built around the calendar month and around connecting to your bank, and most of them only speak English. Koma starts from your salary cycle, because payday in the Gulf is rarely the 1st. You log by chatting instead of filling in forms, in English, Arabic, or Arabizi. Money you send home to family is a planned part of the cycle rather than just another expense. And Koma never asks to connect to your bank. If a global budgeting app has ever felt like it was written for somewhere else, that gap is what Koma was built for.

Does Koma work in Saudi Arabia?

Yes. Koma is built for the whole GCC. It works in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, and it understands each country's currency.

Can I use Koma in Arabic?

Yes. Koma is fully bilingual in English and Arabic, with a right-to-left interface for Arabic. You can also log expenses by chatting in Arabic, English, Arabizi, or a mix of them, and Koma understands you.

How do I log expenses?

You just tell Koma what you spent in plain language, for example 'صرفت 80 على الغداء' or 'spent 80 on lunch'. Koma reads the amount, currency, and category, shows a quick confirmation, and adds it to your records. No forms, no menus.

Is my data safe, and does Koma need my bank login?

Koma never asks for your online banking login, card numbers, or bank account access, and it never connects to your bank. You tell Koma what you spent. On Android, Koma+ subscribers can also switch on automatic capture, which reads the payment alerts your phone has already received, only from the banking apps you pick yourself, and you can switch it off whenever you like. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, it is never sold or shared with advertisers, and you can export or delete everything at any time.

Is Koma a bank, and does it give financial advice?

No to both, on purpose. Koma is not a bank, it does not hold or move your money, and it is not a licensed financial adviser. It will never tell you what you should do with your money. What it does is describe what already happened, in plain language: what you spent, what you sent home, what is left in this cycle, and where the money went. The decisions stay yours.

What is a pay cycle and why does Koma use it?

Most people in the Gulf get paid on a day that is not the 1st of the month, so a calendar-month view never matches real life. Koma tracks your salary cycle instead of the calendar month, so your spending, budgets, and days remaining all line up with the money you actually have until your next payday.

Can Koma track money I send home?

Yes. Koma has a family support and remittance tracker. You set a monthly support goal for each person you help, watch it fill up during the cycle, and confirm when you have sent money home, so supporting family is part of your plan, not an afterthought.

Do I need to download an app, or does Koma work in the browser?

Either way works. On Android, Koma is free on Google Play, so you install it like any other app. Koma also runs in any modern browser, so you can start on the web in seconds with just your email address, no download and no card. On iPhone you add it to your home screen straight from the browser in a couple of taps, and it opens full screen with its own icon, just like an installed app. The step-by-step guide for every option is at heykoma.com/download.
